Reading Time: 2 minutes
Busta Rhymes was recently seen at Seoul Taco’s 10th anniversary block party in Missouri. Rhymes was a surprise headliner for this event, and let’s just say he really spoke his mind about the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Masked Singer contestant went on a giant rant during a break in his performance at the event. He shared his feelings about government policies and mask mandates and didn’t seem too concerned about the delta variant. He cared more that this was his second performance in 15 months.
“Covid can suck a d***, all these little weird a** little mandates and policies can suck a d***,” said Rhymes. “They’re trying to take our civil liberties away.”
In the background of the now-viral video, fans are going absolutely bonkers for what he’s saying. Even though he didn’t seem to need fan agreement, it definitely fueled his fire.
At the end of the rant he apologized for getting political. Rhymes shared that the lockdown made him more empowered, and he wants the opportunity to talk to his fans again. Although this is not the first time Rhymes has stirred controversy, people still thought it was the wrong time for him to share his opinion.
Reactions to the Viral Video
It’s no secret that mask mandates and the Covid-19 pandemic have become a giant argument between many Americans. The delta variant poses the opportunity for more government policies and mandates, which makes some people angry.
Most fans seemed to be more upset that Rhymes was spreading incorrect information at his event. Some shared concerns that people would rather listen to a rapper than a doctor in this circumstance.
