The auditions part of Britain’s Got Talent is a lot of fun, especially because this is where you see most of the truly screwball acts. But once you get into the live shows is when things get interesting. We begin to see contenders for the crown. This Saturday is the last auditions day and then the show goes live on a different day.

The live shows will be on Mondays at 7:30pm in Britain. The shows will then run until May 31st when they will announce the winner. The live shows are the semi-final rounds in which 40 competitors battle it out for a spot in the finals. Two of eight contestants will be chosen after every show. The Golden Buzzer winners will advance automatically to the finals. Fun!

The other big difference we are going to see is the absence of Ant McPartlin. You’ll recall that he is in rehab after getting into a drunk driving accident. Though he’s been on the show in the pre-taped segments, Declan Donnelly will host the live shows on his own. Hopefully Ant comes back next season. Ant and Dec is like peanut butter and jelly, they just go together.
