The Voice coach Blake Shelton reportedly wants to lose weight before his wedding to Gwen Stefani. The pair got engaged in October of last year after five years of dating.
Blake recently opened up about his weight loss goals on Luke Bryan’s Apple Music Country radio show, “Party Barn Radio.” Read on to find out how much weight Blake wants to lose before the big day.
What Prompted Blake Shelton’s Weight Loss Journey
According to Today, Blake Shelton told Luke Bryan he wants to lose 10 pounds before his wedding. “I feel like if I say 10, I have to do it,” he said. “So, 10. It’s out there now. I can’t let people down.”
Blake previously talked to Ellen DeGeneres about how much weight he gained during the pandemic. After Gwen dyed his hair at home, he joked, “I would have really liked it better had I not gained 117 pounds during quarantine.”
He added that he was trying to lose weight, and later told Luke about how he’s changed his surroundings to accommodate the weight he’s gained.
“I’ve readjusted all the mirrors in the house, so they look like when you’re taking a selfie from up above ‘cause I can’t even stand and look at myself in the mirror,” he said, “so I’ve rearranged them or they’re kind of angled down, looking down at me, so I’m looking up and it’s not so bad.”
Will Blake Cry At His Wedding To Gwen?
Luke also asked Blake a few more questions about his upcoming wedding. He had Blake rate various predictions on a scale of one to 10, based on how likely it was. For example, he put Gwen walking down the aisle at a 10, saying he has “confidence.”
He was less confident about crying, however. “Cry?” he said. “Oh, come on. Five.” He also gave a five to former The Voice coach Adam Levine performing, saying, “I’ll put the ball in his court.”
Blake and Gwen haven’t been able to do much wedding planning because of the pandemic. Gwen recently joked that she wished Blake had chosen to propose sooner so they wouldn’t have to wait so long.
On the bright side, at least Blake will have more time to reach his weight loss goals now.
