Blake Shelton Meets His Twin During 45th Birthday Celebration at Ole Red
Blake Shelton just met his doppelgänger at Ole Red venue in Tishomingo, Okla. The Voice coach decided to surprise cover band Blake Nation. The group was performing at the venue to celebrate his birthday. The band first formed in 2017 and has been fronted by Shelton’s look alike at his birthday celebrations for the past three years.
Blake Shelton Surprises Look-Alike at Ole Red Venue
Each time Blake Nation has performed at Ole Red, they hoped to meet Shelton in person. They have mastered playing his song catalog and have idolized him for years. That dream finally came true this year when they got the biggest surprise of a lifetime.
“To our complete and total surprise, Blake Shelton showed up before our show,” the band told Country Now. “The entire band was down in the green room, eating dinner and waiting for the show to begin. As we were all sitting around, eating, and talking, we heard a knock on the outside door. A couple of us looked at each other puzzled because who would be knocking at this door?”
Shelton walked in and got to meet his country twin. David “Fake Blake” Newton is a band member who seriously commits to being in a Shelton cover band. He even has the same barbed wire tattoo that the real Shelton has on his arm. They posed for pictures and even hit it off like they have known each other for a long time. The photos will seriously make you do a double-take.
“I like it when y’all play my music,” Shelton praised the band. “It actually sounds like it should.”
It looks like Season 19 The Voice contestant Ben Allen may have some competition when it comes to being Shelton’s doppelgänger. His voice is just as authentic and rich as Shelton’s and he even got to be a member of Team Blake on the show. Fans were able to notice the resemblance both in looks and sound right away during the season. Although Shelton may have a lot of look-alikes, he truly is one of a kind.
