Blake Shelton Makes Grand Entrance into Second Week of Blind Auditions
Reading Time: 2 minutes
John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Ariana Grande joined each other on their walk out to their chairs this week. The announcer introduced the coaches, but Blake Shelton was nowhere to be found. Instead of walking out with the other coaches, Shelton decided to make a grand appearance.
Instead of seeing Shelton, the other coaches saw a giant sign that said “Blake Shelton #1.” Shelton was seen running through it, almost all of the other coaches rolled their eyes at his first appearance. Although the other coaches clearly groaned, the fans went absolutely insane.
It’s no secret that before Grande came along, Shelton was known as the fan-favorite coach. How is he really handling the pressure of losing his title?
“I think we’re all equally exhausted by the confidence of Blake Shelton,” said Grande. “But I think he underestimates me. Just because I’m new doesn’t mean I won’t bring home a winner.”
Even though Grande sees Shelton as annoying, they truly have a great relationship. They may bicker, but so do all of the coaches. Shelton proved that he actually does have a heart when he sucked up to Grande during the first act of the episode. It doesn’t really sound like Blake Shelton, does it?
Shelton Advocates on Behalf of Grande
This episode of The Voice began with Raquel Trinidad absolutely rocking the house. After the chairs were turned, Shelton surprised everyone when he advocated on behalf of Grande. Both Legend and Clarkson seemed offended by Shelton’s compliments.
Although Raquel talked to all of the coaches, she decided to go with Team Ariana. Rightfully so, I mean Shelton gave a pretty good argument on Grande’s behalf. Legend read right through Shelton’s nice act, sharing that he knows it’s a mischievous act of some kind. I think only time will tell if Shelton is really putting up a front for Grande’s success or not.
