Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood Among Nominees for People’s Choice Country Awards

Nominees for the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards were announced this week, and several talent show stars received nods. That includes Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini, and Morgan Wallen.
Blake Shelton, More Stars Nominated for People’s Choice Country Awards
Former The Voice coach Blake Shelton was nominated in four categories — People’s Artist of 2023, Male Artist of 2023, Social Country Star of 2023, and Concert Tour of 2023. Meanwhile, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood received nods for Female Artist, Social Country Star, and Concert Tour.
Former The Voice guest coach Kelsea Ballerini also received several nominations, for People’s Artist, Female Artist, Social Country Star, and Album of 2023 for her release Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.
Country duo Dan + Shay, who were recently announced as the first coaching duo on The Voice, are also nominated in the Group/Duo category. Their song “That’s Not How This Works” with Charlie Puth is also nominated for Crossover Song.
Former The Voice contestant Morgan Wallen received a whopping 11 nominations. In addition to nods for People’s Artist, Male Artist, and Social Country Star, Wallen also has two nominations each for Song of 2023, Collaboration Song and Music Video. His project One Thing at a Time is also nominated for Album of 2023, and he’s also up for Concert Tour of 2023.

Voting for the Awards Is Open Now
As the name would suggest, the People’s Choice Country Awards are chosen by the fans. Voting is open now, so head to the website to vote for your favorite country stars in a wide range of categories. You can cast your votes through August 25.
The awards will be hosted by Little Big Town and broadcast live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on Thursday, September 28, at 8/7c. The ceremony will air simultaneously on NBC and Peacock.
