Britain’s Got Talent Series 19 returned on Saturday night for another episode of auditions. During the show, two acts received the Golden Buzzer. BGT hosts Ant & Dec pressed it for a hilarious comedian, while Simon Cowell did the honors for a talented singer.

Before his audition, comedian Ted Hill told the BGT judges that he was there “to combine my analytical, weird brain with my love of stand-up comedy.” He went on to share that he’s “a very autistic man” and talked through a hilarious presentation of his special interests.

Ted joked that judge Simon Cowell is his “third favorite person named Simon Cowell.” He also shared a very funny idea for a new phonetic alphabet. The judges got a kick out of his performance — especially Amanda Holden, who couldn’t stop laughing.

Alesha Dixon called Ted’s audition “so unique,” while Holden said it was “completely unexpected.” While the judges gave their thoughts, Ant & Dec sneaked up behind the desk so they could press the Golden Buzzer for Ted, sending him straight through to the live shows.

Singer Earns Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer

During Saturday’s new episode of BGT, a singer named Matty Juniosa took the stage. Matty is originally from the Philippines, but has been living in Glasgow for three years. For his audition, Matty performed a cover of “Purple Rain” by Prince.

The singer showed off an incredible voice, leaving the judges stunned and prompting audience members to get on their feet before the song was even over. The judges also gave Matty a standing ovation after his performance, leaving him emotional.

“Your range is insane,” Dixon told him, while KSI said that Matty’s “personality is outstanding.” The audience chanted for the judges to press the Golden Buzzer, and Simon Cowell answered the call, sending Matty straight into the live shows.

This is Cowell’s second Golden Buzzer of the season. He previously did the honors for aerial performer Paul Nunnari. After hugging Matty, Cowell told the cheering audience, “This is your Golden Buzzer as well.”
