Britain’s Got Talent Series 19 returned on Saturday night for another episode of auditions, as judge KSI pressed the Golden Buzzer for an unexpectedly funny strong man act from Japan called Mr. Cherry.

KSI Presses BGT Golden Buzzer for Strong Man Act

During Saturday’s new episode of BGT, a performer calling himself Mr. Cherry introduced himself as a strong man from Japan. He proceeded to show off some unconventional acts of strength, first by opening a jar of pickles after showing that neither KSI nor Simon Cowell could get the lid off.

He then crushed several cans with his backside, before showing off the most impressive trick of all — opening several bottles of champagne with his butt cheeks. The performance shocked the judges and audience, but unfortunately Cowell was unimpressed, as he pressed the red buzzer.

KSI, on the other hand, was so entertained by Mr. Cherry’s performance that he actually pressed the Golden Buzzer to send the act straight into the live shows, before the judges even had a chance to share their thoughts. His fellow panelists were flabbergasted.

The judge ran on stage to give Mr. Cherry a hug, before slipping in the confetti and falling on his back. Mr. Cherry helped him up, as the audience chanted, “Cherry!” As Mr. Cherry said to show his appreciation, “Thank you cherry much!”

What Other Acts Impressed the Judges?

Mr. Cherry wasn’t the only notable audition from Saturday night’s new episode of BGT. The judges were also won over by 9-year-old singer Lucciano, who invited his grandfather on stage with him to sing in a surprise moment.

Together, the grandfather and grandson performed a unique rendition of “History” by One Direction. The judges gave the pair a standing ovation, with Alesha Dixon saying, “What is there not to love about this?” All four judges voted “yes” to sending them through.

This week’s episode also featured an audition from Fakir Testa, who performed a danger act that stunned the judges. He started by stepping on a ladder made of knives, then invited Simon Cowell on stage to sit in a car while he pulled it by his neck. Fakir earned four “yes” votes from the judges to move on.

The BGT judges were also impressed by The Lux City Choir, who performed a gospel cover of “Higher Love” by Whitney Houston. KSI said they “were entertaining me the whole time.” The group earned four “yes” votes to move on.
