After its successful premiere season on television, celebrity game show Barmageddon has finally been renewed. The show’s host, Nikki Bella, along with her twin sister Brie Bella is also preparing to front an Amazon dating series, Twin Love.
Barmageddon Renewed for Another Season
Spearheaded by superstar duo Blake Shelton and Carson Daly, Barmageddon has become the cable network’s best series premiere in nearly three years. The show is filmed at the country singer’s Ole Red bar in Nashville, Tennessee, enlisting celebrities to play its over-the-top bar games.
According to a press release, Barmageddon was USA’s strongest series premiere in more than two years in the 18-49 demographics. In seven-day delayed viewing, the show’s premiere was the best in the network for an unscripted series.
Season one featured celebrity competitors Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Trace Adkins, and Kane Brown. Lil Rel Howry, Malin Ackerman, and many others graced the series and went head-to-head in a set of classic bar games with a twist. These games include Air Cannon Cornhole, Keg Curling, Drunken Axe Hole, and Sharts (“Shelton Darts”).
Brie Bella, Nikki Bella to Host Amazon Dating Show Twin Love
Meanwhile, WWE stars Brie and Nikki Bella are preparing to host a dating game series, Twin Love. The show is essentially a social dating experiment that delves into the love lives of identical twins.
Particularly, ten sets of twins will be dissolved and placed into two houses of identical casts. There, they will begin a “unique and compelling search for love. The series will seek to figure out if intrinsic similarities stretch to romantic motives.
“Twin Love is a social dating experience like no other, blending the specificity of being a twin—someone born, quite literally, with a biological soulmate—with the universality of being single and searching for lasting romantic love,” said Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD Original Content and Unscripted Programming, Amazon Studios.
Twin Love is based on a Dutch format created by ITV Studios Netherlands. This is the latest format out of the country Big Brother, The Voice and The Traitors. The series will launch this summer on Prime Video.
