American Idol Season 19 star Casey Bishop has released a new song called “Don’t Talk!” along with a colorful music video that’s throwing us back to the ’90s and early 2000s. The 17-year-old singer is also releasing her debut self-titled EP next month.

Casey Bishop Releases Music Video for Song ‘Don’t Talk!’

Casey teased “Don’t Talk!” on Instagram last month, and the song is finally out for fans to enjoy. Like her previous release “Bad Dream,” this track was co-written by Willow Smith. Last year, Casey signed with 19 Recordings and BMG.

“Don’t talk! (I’ve heard enough) / We can do this if you keep your mouth shut,” Casey sings on the track’s pop-punk chorus. “Don’t talk! (You say too much) / If you keep goin’ I’mma leave you alone.”

“I was in the session talking about how you can meet a guy who’s sooo good looking but they just constantly say the wrong things,” Casey said in a press release. “We were joking and throwing out examples of those moments when out of the blue, Willow busts out with the words ‘don’t talk’ in that insane melody riff that became the main punch of the record.”

Casey added that she wanted it to be “a happy, upbeat, fun song.” She definitely accomplished that, and the music video matches the tone. Casey performs in a yellow room with black and white checkerboards on the ceiling and floor. She wears lace-up bell-bottom jeans and sports long, straight hair.

Casey Is Releasing Her Debut EP Next Month

To follow up on her recent releases, Casey is planning to release her debut self-titled EP on September 28. The project will feature six tracks, including “Bad Dream” and “Don’t Talk!” Other titles include “Kerosene,” “Blurry Vision,” “Denied,” and “The Warning.”

Casey auditioned for American Idol Season 19 when she was just 15 years old, showing off a unique rocker style. She ended up finishing the competition in fourth place after performing songs like “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden and “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette.

We’re excited to hear what else Casey has in store as she continues to release music.
