‘American Idol’ Winner Scotty McCreery Releases New Song “Small Town Story”

American Idol Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery has just released a new song called “Small Town Story.” The track appears on the deluxe edition of McCreery’s fifth studio album Same Truck, out November 18.
Scotty McCreery Releases New Song “Small Town Story”
“Small Town Story” is a classic, upbeat country song in which McCreery sings about falling in love. The lyrics divide the song into chapters, as McCreery first sings about growing up, before he “saw your blue eyes.”
“Just a matter of time / ‘Til I was down on one knee,” McCreery sings on the chorus. “It was just black and white / Then it all came to light / When I met you that night / That’s when I started to write / The small town story of my life.”
Toward the end of the song, he sings, “Are we talking kids? / We’re gonna have to see.” The answer is apparently yes, as McCreery and his wife Gabi are expecting a son together, and he’s due to be born very soon.

The Singer Is Releasing a Deluxe Version of ‘Same Truck’
McCreery’s most recent album Same Truck was released last year. Now he’s gearing up to release a deluxe edition of the project, featuring six new tracks. In addition to “Small Town Story,” McCreery has already shared the song “Nothin’ Right.”
The deluxe edition will be available November 18, with pre-order and pre-save available now. McCreery also recently finished up a few shows before going on paternity leave.
McCreery competed on Season 10 of American Idol in 2011. After winning the show, he released his debut album Clear as Day. Since then, he’s released four more albums, include a Christmas project in 2012.
The singer returned to American Idol earlier this year to sing a duet with Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina for the show’s 20th anniversary reunion special.
