Every Performance by ‘American Idol’ Winner Jamal Roberts – Watch Now!

American Idol 2025 has officially come to an end. In case you missed it, Jamal Roberts was announced as the winner of American Idol on Sunday night. Here is every performance he gave in the competition.


Jamal Roberts All Performances on American Idol

Audition

For Jamal Roberts American Idol Season 23 audition, he sang “Mary Jane” by Rick James. He auditioned in New York, and each of the judges voted “yes,” sending him through.

Hollywood Round

During Hollywood round, Jamal appeared in the Idol Arena, singing “With Her Heart” by Anthony Hamilton. He was placed in a deliberation room with Isaiah Misailegalu, Slater Nalley, Amanda Barise, Thunderstorm Artis, Breanna Nix, MKY, Sonny Tennet, Gabby Samone, Ché, Lashon and JMarie. They all went through to the Showstoppers round.

During the Showstoppers round, Jamal sang Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.” Jamal did earn enough to make it to the Head to Heads. In this round Jamal was paired with Desmond Roberts. They sang “The Door” by Teddy Swims.

Top 24

During Jamal’s time at Disney’s Aulani in Ko Olina, Hawai’i he sang “Liar” by Jelly Roll. He received enough votes to continue on in the competition.

Top 20

Following Hawaii week, Jamal returned for the Top 20, where he sang “Forever” by Jason Nelson. He once again earned enough votes to continue in the competition.

Top 14

In the Top 14, Jamal sang “Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding. He once again earned enough votes to make it through to the next round.

Top 12

In the Top 12, Jamal returned with “Shout!” by Isley Brothers. Once again, he was safe from elimination via public vote.

Top 10

Jamal returned in the Top 10, singing “Heal” by Tom Odell. The public once again voted him through.

Top 8

This singer decided to put his own spin on Carrie Underwood’s “Undo It” in the Top 8. Fans loved this performance, once again voting him through to the next round.

Top 7

In the Top 7, Jamal decided to put his own spin on another American Idol winner’s song. In this round he sang Fantasia’s “I Believe, and ultimately earned enough votes to go through to the next round once again.

Top 5

This round featured two seperate themes, Disney Night and Mother’s Day. For Disney Night part 1, Jamal sang “Go the Distance” from Hercules.

For the Mother’s Day portion of the theme, Jamal sang “A Change Is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. Jamal earned enough public votes once again to continue on in the competition.

Top 3

This round once again featured the theme of Disney Night. Jamal’s first performance was of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

His second performance for Disney Night was “Beauty and the Beast” from Beauty and The Beast. He once again earned enough public votes to continue in the competition.

Season 23 Finale

For the finale, Jamal first appeared next to other Top 3 members, Breanna Nix, and John Foster. Together, they sang “We Are The Champions” by Queen.

For his actual Finale performance, Jamal sang “First Time” by TEEKS.

Later in the night, as a tribute to Meridian, Mississippi, Jamal sang “Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)” by The Temptations.

For his celebrity duet, Jamal performed with Jelly Roll. Together they sang Jelly Roll’s “Liar” and “Unpretty.” After this, it was announced that Jamal won American Idol 2025.

For his coronation song, Jamal performed an original. The original is titled “Heal.”
