American Idol Season 19 runner-up Willie Spence shared a snippet of a new song on Instagram this week. The clip he shared is from a track called “Myself,” and it sounds like it has an inspiring message.

‘American Idol’s Willie Spence Teases New Song ‘Myself’

Willie shows off his powerful, emotional voice on the new song, backed by piano. The singer gets honest in the lyrics, singing, “I can see the world is so proud of me / But this ain’t exactly where I wanna be / Not really trying to sound ungrateful.”

On the song’s chorus, Willie sings that he’s “bigger than myself,” and he’s going to “keep on pushing, keep on striving, keep on praying through it all.”

The clip lasts for one minute and ten seconds — enough to get fans excited to hear the full song. In the post’s caption, Willie included the hashtag #deletingsoon, so we might not have long to listen to this snippet. Hopefully he plans to release the full version of the track at some point.

Willie Has Been Teasing New Music for Months

Since finishing Season 19 of American Idol in second place behind winner Chayce Beckham, Willie has been teasing fans with the possibility of new original music. Last August, he posted a snippet of a song called “Pressure.”

“So glad I made it / Now I am free / When it felt like I couldn’t take it / I thought about my family,” Willie sang in the black and white Instagram clip.

Willie previously released an original single for American Idol called “Never Be Alone.” He also has an EP out called The Voice, which features the single “So Gone.” Not to mention, he performed live with fellow contestant Alyssa Wray at Atlanta Symphony Hall last year.

After the show’s finale last May, Willie wrote on Instagram that he’s “ready to make some dope music for you guys.” It looks like he’s working hard to make that happen.
