‘American Idol’ Alum Haven Madison Releases “Sky Up” Animation Video

Haven Madison kicked off 2023 with a brand-new song and it’s pulling everyone’s heartstrings. After releasing his first song for 2024, “Sky Up,” the American Idol alum further sensationalized the song by dropping an animation video.
Haven Madison Drops “Sky Up” Film Adaptation
Over the weekend, Madison revealed that she’s put out a music video for her newest song. The singer opted for an animation content, creating an emotional story of two best friends.
In the visualizer, a stuffed dinosaur made out of yarn wakes up from his sleep, seeing his fox friend playing around the bamboo water pump. The fox then suddenly falls off from the pump, causing it to be on the verge of drowning. The emotional part of the narrative begins when the dino tries to save the fox.
“Cause I’m like the dark in the middle of the night / You’re the stars you’re my only source of light / You’re the only one around / When it’s all falling down,” she sang.
Since the beginning of the year, Madison has been teasing about the new single. Last week, the singer gave a glimpse of the film adaptation, exciting her fans about the single.
The release of “Sky Up” comes after Madison defended herself from her social media detractors. Over a week ago, posted a long message telling her candid sentiments on the insensitive comments she received.
“I’ve chased this dream my entire life, and watched people point and laugh while I’m running and working as hard and as fast as I can,” she wrote. “So to every person who took the time to read this, you are so wildly capable, and the hate you receive is from people too afraid to dare greatly, so they have to mock those who do.”
“Sky Up” serves as the first song that the Idol alum has released this year. On April 26, she’s set to drop an EP titled Turn Off All The Lights.
Fans Praise Her New Song
Upon seeing the animation video, fans expressed it has perfectly sent the message of “Sky Up.” One fan even commented that it might be the next big thing on Disney.
“I could seriously see this song in the next big Disney movie,” one fan wrote on her Instagram announcement post.
“The music and lyrics are amazing together with this animated video. The meaning of the lyrics went straight to my heart and made my tears fell on my cheeks,” another fan wrote.
Many fans also commented on YouTube, stating words of appreciation for the singer.
“[I’ve] never been so emotionally involved in a story about an amigurumi before. Waited so long for new music and Haven did not disappoint,” the person wrote.
Madison joined American Idol season 21, singing her original song titled “Fifteen” when she auditioned in Las Vegas. She ended her journey on the competition series as part of the Top 8.
