Amanda Holden did an interview on Friday’s “This Morning” show. Sitting down with co-hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, she spoke about her new Christmas single, got emotional about family, and shed some light on the BGT Christmas Day Special. Most notably, she left the door open on the idea of Simon possibly making his return to BGT for the special. What a Christmas gift that would be!
For Amanda, Home Is Where The Heart Is
The actress/singer and “Britain’s Got Talent” judge festively appeared on the daytime show to promote her new Christmas single, “Home For Christmas.” A song she hopes can broaden our definition of the word “home.” She expressed that “home is about somebody you love” and that “being home for Christmas doesn’t necessarily mean a building.” Amanda gets a little emotional reflecting on the year and the importance of loved ones in these times. A sentiment she hopes gets carried through the song.Â

Amanda did have a chance to talk about the upcoming “Britain’s Got Talent” Christmas special. The first-ever Christmas special for BGT is set to air on Christmas day. Unlike regular, the special will not feature contestants and is not a competition. Instead, it’s a festive celebration of the show that will include performances from all of the judges and a few past winners as well. The Wait Will Soon Be Over
The BGT creator, Simon Cowell, 61, had to take a hiatus from the competition judging after undergoing back surgery as a result of an accident. He’s been on the mend for several weeks now and has seen improvement. Eager to return to work Cowell has been working hard at recovery, even trying to be back in time for the BGT Live Finals. So we have another chance for a hopeful Cowell return this Christmas. According to Amanda though, we can expect Simon back for January auditions.
