America’s Got Talent Season 12 winner Darci Lynne Farmer is furthering her acting career with a role in the new film Reagan, which is a biopic of the former U.S. president starring Dennis Quaid. Farmer recently attended the film’s premiere.
Darci Lynne Farmer Appears in New Movie Reagan
Farmer recently posted a series of photos on Instagram from the red carpet premiere of Reagan, writing that it was “a joy” to attend and “an honor” to be part of the project. Farmer wore a bright pink strapless dress to the event.
In one of the photos she shared, Farmer can be seen posing with Quaid, who plays Ronald Reagan in the new film, out August 30. Farmer is credited in the film on IMDb, but no character name is listed. However, we can glean some information about her role.
According to a 2021 report, Farmer plays a girl who is rescued by a young Reagan (played by David Henrie) during his time as a lifeguard. She can be seen briefly in the film’s trailer, being carried out of the water by Henrie.
“Half of them were teenage girls who faked it because they thought he was cute and they just wanted to be saved by him,” Farmer told The Oklahoman about the swimmers Reagan rescued as a lifeguard, which explains why she’s smiling in the trailer shot.

This Isn’t Farmer’s First Movie Role
Farmer is best known for competing on AGT Season 12 as a singing ventriloquist. She’s also recently branched out into releasing original music without her puppets. But Farmer has also dipped her toes into the acting world.
She made her film debut in the 2022 Netflix movie A Cowgirl’s Song, co-starring alongside Cheryl Ladd and performing on the film’s soundtrack. Farmer has also had roles in a few TV series, including Fancy Nancy and Side Hustle.
Recently, Farmer released a new song called “Someone Wake Me Up,” which is a follow-up to her debut single “Push Our Luck,” released earlier this year.
