AGT Winner Michael Grimm in Recovery, Speech Therapy
According to Billboard, Grimm was rushed to the hospital around Memorial Day weekend due to a mysterious health issue that was causing body tremors and difficulty speaking. He was put on a ventilator for several weeks and heavily medicated to prevent a stroke or flatlining.
Lucie Grimm took to Instagram a few days ago to update fans on her husband’s health. She shared that Grimm has moved to a recovery facility and is undergoing physical therapy and speech therapy. She also said that his “mind and body has disconnected, so we’re working on reconnecting that.”
“I’m thrilled to say that his speaking voice is completely back, and he is in full speaking voice,” she went on to share. “So the speech therapy portion of it has been very successful.”
She added that Grimm “doesn’t have a singing voice yet,” but he’s “not stressed over it.” He believes “that with proper vocal exercises and retraining he will get back on track.” Grimm has also “gotten his mobility back,” and is walking on his own without a walker or cane.
