A recent America’s Got Talent star has set a Guinness World Record. Twinkie the Pomeranian, who performs with Acro Canine Crew, set a record for the fastest time for a dog to complete 10 arm jumps.
AGT Star Twinkie the Pomeranian Sets Record
You might remember Acro Canine Crew from earlier this season on America’s Got Talent. The Canadian acrobatic group stunned the judges when they added dogs to their audition. Host Terry Crews loved the performance so much, he pressed the Golden Buzzer to send them straight to the live shows.
One of the dogs featured in Acro Canine Crew’s AGT performance is 2-year-old Twinkie the Pomeranian. According to People, Twinkie has officially set a Guinness World Record for the fastest time a dog has performed 10 consecutive jumps through a human’s arms. Twinkie was able to do this in 7.48 seconds with her trainer Jennifer Fraser.
“Twinkie knows a wide variety of tricks, all taught using positive reinforcement, lots of treats, praise and love,” Fraser told Guinness World Records. “This particular trick was built gradually through small training steps until she was confident and fast enough to perform it at record speed.”
Fraser described Twinkie as “like a border collie trapped in a tiny body,” adding that she “absolutely loves learning new things.” Fraser has now broken 19 Guinness World Records with her dogs.
AGT Season 21 premiered in early June, and the show is still airing auditions. So far, 10 acts have earned the Golden Buzzer from the judges and host Terry Crews. In addition to Acro Canine Crew, the host also did the honors for light-up act Royal Lasers.
Meanwhile, judge Simon Cowell has pressed the Golden Buzzer for singer Lai Noelle and parkour act Rubén Roldán Bustos. Howie Mandel has done the honors for rapper Luke Taleno and magician group Hundred Fingers.
Sofia Vergara has pressed the AGT Golden Buzzer for singer Lara D and aerialist Veronika Goroshkova. As for Mel B, she’s done the honors for singers Isaac Atkins and Mackenzie Sol.
