‘AGT’ Singer Makes His Father Cry During His Audition [VIDEO]

Justin Rhodes Auditions For ‘AGT’ In Front Of His Father
Before his audition, Justin said he started playing the piano when he was three years old. He shared that his parents loved his passion for music, but weren’t sure he should make it his career.

Justin ended up moving to New York City to pursue music, and ended up drinking and taking drugs. “It was the darkest time of my life,” he said, adding of his father, “I can tell that I’ve disappointed him as his only son.”
Justin’s father was sitting in the AGT audience during his audition. He explained that it was the first time his dad had seen him perform as an adult. “I live in Florida now, and he lives up in Buffalo,” Justin explained, “and it’s getting a little harder for him to get around.”
He played the keyboard while he sang, and the audience clapped along. Meanwhile, Justin’s father could be seen wiping away tears as he watched his son perform.
What Did The Judges Think Of Justin’s Performance?
“I think you’re very special,” AGT judge Heidi Klum said of Justin’s audition. Mel B, meanwhile, said his voice was “sexy” and “pitch perfect.” Howard Stern said Justin was “able to convey something through your song.”

Howie Mandel told Justin that it was a “miracle” for his father to be there and “witness his son’s life blossom in front of America.” He said he was “choked up” watching it. When it came time to vote, Howie asked Justin’s father what he thought. He gave a thumbs-up.
