America’s Got Talent has started filming auditions for Season 21 of the show, and the judges have been sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes clips and photos on social media. They seem to be having a lot of fun together behind the desk.
AGT Judges Post Behind-the-Scenes from Season 21
Over the weekend, judge Mel B posted a video of herself on Instagram entering the AGT auditorium wearing a short metallic dress and waving to the crowd. In another clip posted by Sofia Vergara, the Modern Family actress wears a black dress with a sheer midriff as she stands backstage beside fellow judge Howie Mandel.
Vergara also posted a video interacting with Mel B from behind the judges’ table, as she shares that it’s the second day of auditions. Mel B points out that Vergara hasn’t pressed the Golden Buzzer yet, to which Vergara replies, “Not yet.” In another video, Vergara looks at her phone while snacking.
Simon Cowell also posted clips from this weekend’s AGT auditions. In one video, he introduces a few backstage members of the team, before turning the camera on Vergara and joking, “No idea what she does.” Mel B also shows up at the end.
In another clip posted to Instagram, Cowell stands behind the judges’ desk and shares that they have a “very loud” audience. He then turns the camera on the crowd behind him, and they start screaming.

When Does the New Season Premiere?
It was recently announced that AGT Season 21 will premiere on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 8/7c on NBC. This is slightly later than usual, as the show typically premieres right after Memorial Day, which is May 25 this year. It’s also the first time since Season 16 that the show has premiered in June instead of May.
Last season’s judging panel (Howie Mandel, Mel B, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell) will be back for Season 21. Terry Crews will also be back as the show’s host. As usual, the season will kick off with the audition phase before moving into the live shows.
This season, the AGT live shows will kick off on August 18, when the show will begin to air twice a week — performance episodes on Tuesday, and results episodes on Wednesday.
