Dancing with the Stars insider Kristyn Burtt recently shared a TikTok video spilling some tea about when we can expect to hear more about the upcoming spin-off show The Next Pro. Burtt looked at reported host Robert Irwin’s schedule to get an idea of what’s to come.

What to Expect from DWTS Spin-Off The Next Pro

In February, it was reported that a DWTS spin-off show, titled Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, was in the works which will focus on a new professional dancer for the series. Season 34 winner Robert Irwin was reportedly in talks to host, with Mark Ballas and Shirley Ballas as judges.

According to show insider Kristyn Burtt, there have been “so many people flying back and forth to Australia over the last few months,” seemingly to work on The Next Pro. Filming on the show has reportedly wrapped, but the project has yet to be officially announced.

That could change soon, as Burtt points out that Irwin will be in the United States later this month to appear on the DWTS live tour. During his time stateside, Burtt speculates that he could be shooting promos or possibly making an announcement about the show’s premiere date.

Irwin will also be attending the Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas on May 2, celebrating his late father. According to Burtt, promos for the new show will be filmed “very soon,” on dates coinciding with Irwin being in the United States.

What Else Has Burtt Said About the Show?

Burtt has shared a few videos about The Next Pro on TikTok over the past couple of months. At the end of February, she shared that DWTS judge Derek Hough was in Australia. She also pointed out that some of the pros had to leave the tour for select dates in March.

In the same video, Burtt shared that she was told the show would feature weekly challenges and eliminations. One possible challenge would involve contestants dancing with pros from the series. Other challenges would test the contestants’ teaching abilities.
