America’s Got Talent‘s spin-off series America’s Got Talent: Extreme will continue after Jonathan Goodwin’s horrific accident in mid-October. Now, producers of the series have announced that they will be able to air the show midseason.
AGT: Extreme has not filmed since mid-October, but has finally shared an anticipated air date. Frances Berwick, the Chairman of Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming has recently spoken out about the show’s fate. The network representative shared that they still expect AGT: Extreme to air in a midseason slot on Sunday nights.
“We have an investigation ongoing into what actually happened but we do anticipate the show coming back in midseason. We have a lot of safety protocols in place and we have to conclude the investigation but we have certainly paused production for the time being,” said Berwick.
When Will AGT: Extreme Air Again?
This upcoming Fremantle series has an all star judge panel featuring Simon Cowell, former WWE wrestler Nikki Bella, and 17 time X Games Medalist Travis Pastrana. Just like AGT, Terry Crews will host this series. AGT: Extreme is a spin-off of AGT, but specifically features daredevil acts and wild stunts.
As of now, there has been no talk about when the series will return to the Atlanta Motor Speedway for filming. AGT: Extreme paused production after Jonathan Goodwin was sandwiched between two cars during a rehearsal. The alarming accident had bystanders thinking the daredevil had died during his stunt.
Luckily, he is now in a London hospital continuing his recovery. Goodwin was unresponsive during his airlift to the hospital, but after surgery, the daredevil announced that his condition is improving. There is no news yet as to whether or not he will continue on in the show, or if segments of his stunt will be aired.
