America’s Got Talent spin-off America’s Got Talent: Extreme will begin filming on September 27. This new show brings some of the most terrifying acts to their own stage. Do you love danger acts? This show might be the one for you.

America’s Got Talent is known for featuring some of the most unique talents from around the world. It’s no secret that sometimes these unique acts do not get through to the live shows because their acts are bigger than the stage in California allows for. AGT Extreme strives to take the escape artists, magicians, and daredevils. The show will have them compete until one of them reigns victorious in the end.

As you’ve probably seen from AGT, these types of performers typically require a big stage for their grand acts. NBC has provided a larger, outdoor venue so these artists can go to the extreme for their acts in the show. Considering the need for a larger stage, the show will be filming at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. The Atlanta Motor Speedway is a 1.54-mile race track, so these contestants should have plenty of space.

Tickets are completely free to this outdoor event. There will be both vaccinated and unvaccinated seating, so regardless of your vaccination status you can attend this event. Even though the venue could hold up to 125,000 people, we can assume that the number won’t be quite as high considering sections could be socially distant. They will be filming in Atlanta until October 20, but I would jump on getting tickets if you want to be a part of the live audience.

Why did ‘AGT’ Choose to film in Georgia?

Filming in Georgia has become a very common thing in the film industry in the past few years. Although Hollywood is a big spot for the film industry, they’re beginning to expand their home to the east coast, in an area where there is more land. Some shows and films that have gone into production in Georgia are, Stranger Things, Baby Driver, Avengers Infinity War, and more.

Although AGT Extreme isn’t on the same caliber as films like Avengers Infinity War, we can understand why they need this extra space for the spin-off. These acts won’t just be going on stage and doing a small dance. They will instead be performing stunts that might require extra space for safety equipment. NBC has seriously gone out of their way to create an environment where contestants will not feel restricted in their act. They will no longer have the issue of the indoors holding them back from their amazing acts.

The filming of this NBC series is set to begin on September 27, but there have been no announcements of who will be joining Simon Cowell. Will we see some familiar faces like Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum? Or will they have some popular AGT alum danger acts at the judging panel? Only time will tell with this new series.

As an avid lover of danger acts on AGT, I am very excited to see what this spin-off is all about. I think in the long run this show will provide these acts a better platform to impress. Without the restrictions of being indoors, they will be able to let their creative juices fly even more.
