Brooke Simpson Covers The Darkness’ “I Believe in a Thing Called Love”
On October 9, Scary Pockets revealed that they’ve created a funky cover of “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” with Simpson. The cover showed Simpson and the band rocking out inside a vintage-looking studio.
“What a ride it’s been! Honored to have @brookesimpsonofficial sing our LAST COVER ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’,” they wrote.
The AGT singer can be seen wearing white sleeveless shirt matched with a pair of leather pants. To complete her look, she made her naturally curly hair glow with a pair of large gold hoop earrings. With this outfit, Simpson confidently belted out the lyrics of the classic song.
Clearly, Simpson has been enjoying her time with Scary Pockets. Currently, she is serving as a supporting act of the band’s ongoing tour. Days back, the AGT singer gave a glimpse of her tour life with them through a series of snaps she posted on Instagram.
“It’s been so dreamy funkin’ around with @scarypockets,” she wrote.
As the AGT singer continues to pursue music, she also advocates for mental health. In her Instagram post back in May, Simpson stated that caring for her mental health has allowed her to dive deeper in her relationships and her artistry.
Fans Are Loving This Electric Rendition
Upon seeing the rendition, a number of listeners pointed out how powerful Simpson’s vocals are. One user particularly stated that her passion for music is seen through the cover.
“Holy sh*t that first high note is insane. I can’t imagine being express energy through voice like that,” one user wrote.
“Like a shot of electricity,” another person wrote.
“This is so explosive!!!! Happy people making funk music,” another person commented.
Simpson joined America’s Got Talent back in 2021. Before ending up as fourth place in the said competition, Simpson had already worked with Miley Cyrus, Sia, Taboo (of the Black Eyed Peas) and more. She also wasn’t a stranger to reality contests anymore when she joined AGT. In 2017, she competed in season 13 of The Voice as part of Team Miley. There, she finished in third place.
