American Idol alum Adam Lambert is lending his voice to an upcoming animated series on Netflix. The show is called A Tale Dark and Grimm, and is based on a book of the same name.

Lambert was the runner-up in Season 8 of Idol in 2009, and has gone on to build an impressive career for himself as a solo artist and with the band Queen. Now he’s stepping into the world of voice acting.

Adam Lambert to Voice Animated Netflix Character

Actor and director David Henrie posted about the new animated series on his Instagram, explaining that he’ll be executive producing, writing, and acting in the project. The show is based on A Tale Dark and Grimm, by Adam Gidwitz.

The book follows the characters of Hansel and Gretel as they enter stories other than their own. Gretel will be voiced by actress Raini Rodriguez. Other actors providing voices are Tom Hollander, Scott Adsit, and Missi Pile.

As Henrie explained in a comment on the post, Lambert “plays the devil and he killllllllls it.” Lambert shared Henrie’s post on his Instagram story.

“Had the most fun voicing one of the characters! Stay tuned,” he wrote.

This isn’t Lambert’s first time acting. He previously had a recurring guest role on Glee, which allowed him to show off his amazing singing voice as well as his personality. He also appeared on the TV series Moonbase 8. We can’t wait to hear what he brings to this new project.

What Has Lambert Been Up to Lately?

Last year, Lambert released his fourth studio album, Velvet. It featured the singles “Feel Something,” “New Eyes,” and “Superpower.” Unfortunately, his appearances in Las Vegas and on a European tour had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this year, Lambert told Kelly Clarkson that he’s thinking about starting a makeup line, and he’s also working on a musical which he started during the pandemic. The singer has also been doing charity work with his Feel Something Foundation, which he launched in 2019.
