Young Couple Wanted To Win ‘AGT’ So They Could Start A Family — Where Are They Now?

Michael and Carissa Alvarado, known as Us The Duo shared a touching original song during their America’s Got Talent audition. They made it clear that they wanted to win the competition and start a family. Check out their ‘AGT’ audition below that allowed the world to fall in love with them. Us The Duo Shared Their Original Songs On ‘America’s Got Talent’
When they first stepped onto the stage for their ‘AGT’ audition, it was clear that the couple were completely in love. They shared an original song about always being there for each other. Heidi Klum gave them a standing ovation after sharing their catchy tune. “It made me all mushy and gushy inside because you two are so cute and in love and I can see the sparks are flying back and forth. I think you have a hit right there” Heidi said. “I like you, you’re an adorable couple and everything. To me that song seemed a little coffee house” Howie Mandel said, not as big of a fan.
“It’s always a risk to do an original. I like the vibe of it but you need to give us just that extra something” Mel B agreed. But Simon Cowell was a big fan. “I like the chorus of the song and the fact that you were playing the drum. The fact that you did something original makes you stand out, we’re going to remember you.” Howie voted “no” while the other three judges voted “yes” which sent them into the Judge Cuts round. Once there, they had a very special announcement for the entire world, they were expecting a baby! They shared another original song that advanced them to the Quarterfinals. They made it all the way to the Semifinals but did not advance on to the Finals on ‘AGT.’
Where Are They Now?
After their America’s Got Talent elimination, the pair welcomed daughter Xyla in October of 2018. And just like her parents, Xyla is incredibly adorable. They often post pictures and covers with the toddler smiling brightly at the camera.
Us The Duo also worked for two years on a new album that they just released. It’s called “Up Until Now.” They even included a track of Xyla laughing in the interlude on the album. “She couldn’t talk yet and was confused at what the microphone was. But after we tickled her stomach, she let out a few joyful giggles and we put those on top of a melody that had been stuck in @michaelalvarado’s head ever since Xyla was born” they wrote on Instagram.
The pair also shot a one take music video for their song “Like Myself.”
