Dancing With the Stars celebrity Selma Blair is currently national news for getting into an altercation aboard a commercial flight from Los Angeles to New York City. This story is still developing, this is everything we know about the situation.
Selma Blair Charged with Second-Degree Assault
On October 12, Selma Blair appeared in court on Monday and was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. She did not enter a plea and is due back in court on January 19, 2027.
According to court reports, prosecutors said Blair kicked a Port Authority officer when she was being strapped into a stretcher, before being loaded into an ambulance. She was allegedly able to free her leg from the stretcher straps and kick an officer in the head and chest. Apparently, hours later, Blair also kicked a nurse who was taking her for additional treatment.
Blair’s attorney, Shawn Barnes explained that Blair “boarded her flight after extensive hours on set, fell and hit her head on the plane, and missed her medication.” She had also spent seven to eight hours at the hospital before being in police custody and then she had to return to the hospital.

Blair’s Rep Says She “Experienced a Medical Emergency”
On October 11, Blair was on Delta Air Lines flight 938 from Los Angeles to New York City. Allegedly, mid-flight Blair punched one flight attendant and bit another. The two flight attendants reported injuries, and one was taken to the hospital.
Blair was then restrained and sent to the hospital once the flight landed. It was then that she allegedly repeatedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head.
“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” her team told Page Six after the flight.
After news of the alleged assault became national news, Delta responded to the situation. In a statement to Page Six they said: “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”
The airline told the publication to bring “further comment[s] to local law enforcement.”
