Britain’s Got Talent is celebrating its 20th anniversary next year, and some familiar faces could be returning to celebrate the milestone. The show is reportedly in talks to welcome back former BGT stars such as Piers Morgan and Susan Boyle.
Are Piers Morgan, Susan Boyle Returning to BGT?
According to The Sun, the bosses at BGT are interested in bringing back a number of former stars for the show to celebrate the 20th anniversary in 2027. That apparently includes welcoming former judge Piers Morgan back to the panel for several auditions.
The show would also reportedly like to bring runner-up Susan Boyle (whose incredible 2009 audition went viral) and winner Paul Potts back to the stage for the live shows. This will apparently be similar to the show’s 10th anniversary celebration, which welcomed back acts such as Diversity and Stavros Flatley.
“A 20th anniversary extravaganza is in the works as producers work out which familiar faces to bring back to celebrate the huge milestone,” a source told The Sun, adding that the plan is for Morgan to be present for auditions filming in January.
Piers Morgan himself seems to have hinted at his return to the series, as he apparently reposted The Sun‘s article on social media and responded with a wide-eyed emoji. One fan reportedly wrote in response that BGT “needs a shake up” since it has “become stale.”

Simon Cowell Will Miss Some Auditions
Auditions for Series 20 of BGT recently began filming, and judge Simon Cowell has to sit them out. The music mogul is currently recovering from back surgery that also caused him to miss several AGT live shows.
The show has now confirmed that TV presenter Bradley Walsh has joined the show as a guest judge while Cowell is away, sitting alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and KSI. Cowell is expected to return to the judging panel when auditions continue in January.
