The Voice recently shared a video featuring the Season 30 coaches chatting about the show and their music careers ahead of the premiere later this month. Returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson shared their advice for newcomers Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
The Voice Season 30 Coaches Chat in New Video
At the start of the Voice coaches’ conversation, Kelly Clarkson told Queen Latifah and Riley Green that she was “stoked” they were joining the panel, saying they “seem fun.” Adam Levine pointed out that he and Latifah share a birthday, prompting her to joke, “Pisces powers activate!”
Green said that joining the show was “hard for me to comprehend,” adding that the other three coaches “seem really famous to me.” As he shared, “Thinking about it now, I don’t know that I could have picked a better group.”
Latifah said that when she heard about the possibility of joining the show, she “prayed about it.” Two days, later, she recalled that it was a “done deal.” As she said, “I really love this show, and I really wanted to be here.”
Clarkson promised the new coaches that the Blind Auditions are “so much fun,” although she admitted that it can be hard when no one turns around for an artist. She also said that “sometimes people’s voices just do not match what you put in your head.”
Kelly Clarkson’s fellow coaches took a moment during their chat to praise the American Idol winner’s vocal talent. As Queen Latifah said, “What can’t she sing?” Adam Levine agreed that it’s “annoying how good she is,” adding that she’s “never bad.”
Clarkson brought up her recent cover of “Golden” from Kpop Demon Hunters on the final episode of her talk show. As Levine joked, “Why would you do that? That’s for robots.” Clarkson admitted that the song “made me its b*tch a little bit.”
