The Voice Host Carson Daly Says Goodbye for Now

On Tuesday, after The Voice: Celebrity was announced for Season 31 of the singing competition, with Keke Palmer as the new host, Carson Daly posted to Instagram. The longtime host shared an image from the very first season of The Voice, which premiered in 2011.

“I am not the right host for it,” Daly wrote of the new season. “We have a NEW amazing HOST! The triple threat queen @keke who is PERFECT for it! I’m so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out.”

Daly said that he’s been asked if he’s “leaving the show,” to which he replied, “Nope. We’re gonna try out these 2 formats this fall/spring & see how it goes!” Daly will be back as the show’s host for Season 30, premiering on September 21.

Although he won’t be hosting Season 31, Daly will still be working behind the scenes as the show’s producer. The new season, which is premiering in the spring, will feature coaches Queen Latifah, Riley Green, and Joe Jonas.
