Carson Daly in 'The Voice' Finale

The Voice host Carson Daly is rumored to be stepping away from the show for Season 31 due to scheduling conflicts. Daly has appeared on the talent show for every season since it premiered in 2011.

Is The Voice Host Carson Daly Stepping Away?

A source recently told The Sun that longtime The Voice host Carson Daly chose to sit out Season 31 of the show, which is expected to premiere early next year. As the source explained, “He wasn’t able to make the upcoming season’s schedule work with his Today show schedule.”

Daly, who made a name for himself hosting MTV’s Total Request Live, has appeared on Today since 2013. The NBC morning show films in New York City, while The Voice shoots its episodes in California.

“So his Today workload mixed with not wanting to be away from family this next year made him say ‘no’ to hosting 31,” the insider continued. “He remains an executive producer on it and the door is open if he wants to return for Season 32.”

Daly has hosted The Voice for 15 years, and he’ll be back for Season 30 of the show this fall. The new season will premiere September 21 on NBC and feature coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green.

Who Will Replace Daly for Season 31?

Neither Carson Daly nor The Voice have officially confirmed that he’s stepping away from hosting duties as of this writing. However, if the rumors are true, the show will presumably have to find a replacement host for Season 31.

The season has already begun filming, and fans who attended tapings reportedly claimed on Reddit that Daly was indeed not present, and actress Keke Palmer was the host instead. We’ll have to wait and see if NBC confirms this rumored casting any time soon.
