Wildlife conservationist and Dancing with the Stars Season 34 winner Robert Irwin is reportedly dating American wildlife photographer Ashleigh Scully. According to new gossip, Irwin’s family is worried that the pair’s relationship might be moving too quickly.
Robert Irwin’s Family Worried About His Relationship
Robert Irwin, 22, and Ashleigh Scully, 24, have reportedly been friends for years, but they first sparked romance rumors earlier this year. In February, Scully was spotted visiting Australia Zoo, where Irwin works, and they also apparently went on a diving excursion together.
In March, the two were photographed together near the Australia set of spin-off show DWTS: The Next Pro, which Irwin hosts. As of this writing, neither Irwin nor Scully has publicly confirmed that they’re dating.
According to In Touch Weekly, Irwin’s mom Terri and older sister Bindi are concerned that the rumored couple’s relationship might be moving too quickly.
“It’s not that they’re questioning Ashleigh herself,” a source told the magazine. “In fact, they think she seems lovely and can completely understand why he’s so taken with her. Their concern is more that he’s already racing ahead and making all sorts of plans when the relationship is still very new.”

Are These Concerns Valid?
In Touch‘s source shared that the Irwin family’s “concerns are valid,” as the 22-year-old is apparently “talking about involving Ashleigh in every aspect of his life.” That includes wanting her to spend time at Australia Zoo “getting to know the family business and becoming part of the wider Irwin world.”
Irwin’s last public relationship was reportedly with Heath Ledger’s niece Rorie Buckley, with the pairing breaking up two years ago. The source added that Irwin “hasn’t had a huge amount of serious relationship experience, so when he falls for someone, he tends to throw himself in with both feet.”
“They’re thrilled to see him happy and would never want to dampen his enthusiasm,” the source said of Irwin’s family. “But they do think he needs to cool his jets a little.”
