America’s Got Talent Season 21 premiered earlier this week, and some fans are dissatisfied with the judging lineup for this year’s competition. A thread on the show’s subreddit suggests that former judge Heidi Klum would be preferable to returning judge Mel B.
Some AGT Fans Want Heidi Klum Back as Judge
Last season, longtime judge Heidi Klum left the AGT panel and was replaced by former judge Mel B. This year, Mel B is back for another season, alongside fellow judges Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell. Some viewers are dissatisfied with this lineup.
“Who else wants Heidi Klum back instead of Mel B as a judge for the next season?” wrote a Reddit user ahead of this week’s premiere episode. They added, “For me Mel B ignored significant talent last season and went after different stereotypes of contestants.”
A commenter agreed that the best lineup of judges, in their opinion, featured Mandel, Klum, Vergara, and Cowell. Someone else simply wrote, “I will jump on that bandwagon.” Another user commented, “Yes We Need Heidi Back!”
Not everyone is unhappy with Mel B’s return to the AGT panel. In fact, one fan on Reddit argued that Heidi Klum “didn’t bring a lot to the table,” calling her feedback “generic” and adding that Mel B “brings good TV.”
Another user had a similar opinion, writing that Mel B “shook up the panel last year” with her honesty. Someone else commented that they like “how she speaks her mind,” but added that they “wouldn’t mind a 5 judge panel with Heidi back.”
Meanwhile, one commenter actually argued that if any of the judges should leave, they would like it to be Sofia Vergara, writing, “She is a little bit too iconic to be a judge.”
