American Idol is back and better than ever. This season, fans have seen multiple familiar faces. Victor Soloman is among the familiar faces on this season of American Idol. For those who may not know, Victor also competed on Season 20 of The Voice.
Victor Soloman Auditions for American Idol
Fans are thrilled to see The Voice contestant Victor Soloman on the current season of American Idol. Although his audition wasn’t posted to YouTube, it was aired on the ABC show. Within the audition, Victor performed Lionel Richie’s “Hello.”
After his audition, Lionel Richie was the first judge to comment, saying “My entire career, I have never had anyone take ‘Hello’ and preach on ‘Hello’ that was really really special.”
While Richie liked Victor’s preaching, Bryan encouraged the singer to “sing all these genres” during the next rounds of the competition. Bryan put emphasis on the fact that Victor should “have fun with your talent because it is really good.”
Before saying “yes” or “no,” Richie stated that Victor is “Top 20, as far as I feel.” Richie ended his commentary saying simply “god bless you,” which Carrie Underwood agreed with. Underwood also acknowledged that Victor has “been given an incredible gift.”
While Victor walked off the stage, he thanked Richie for allowing him to sing his song. “it’s truly a blessing to hear those words from someone like you,” he said.
How Far Did He Get on The Voice?
For those who may not know, Victor Soloman previously competed on The Voice, season 20. While Victor was on the season, the season’s coaches were Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Nick Jonas.

In his audition, Victor performed “Glory” by Common and John Legend. This blind audition earned chair turns from Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Nick Jonas. Ultimately, Victor chose to join Team Legend. Victor remained on Team Legend for the entirety of the series. He finished out the competition in fifth place.
Since Victor was such a well known name on The Voice, many fans were excited to see his return to tv with American Idol.
