Nikki Garcia recently celebrated her first Valentine’s Day since splitting from her husband Artem Chigvintsev. The former WWE star opened up on her podcast about spending the holiday with her son Matteo.

During a recent episode of The Nikki & Brie Show podcast, Garcia talked about celebrating Valentine’s Day as a single mom. She and her ex-husband, former Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev, finalized their divorce in November of last year.

“It was actually…I loved it. It was amazing because I got Matteo,” Garcia shared about how she spent the holiday earlier this month. “Matteo has been talking a lot about San Francisco. So I had this whole idea in my head. I’m like, okay. Maybe we’ll do Half Moon Bay first, then head up to San Francisco.”

Garcia went on to say that Half Moon Bay was “magical,” adding, “One day, I’ll be getting gifts again maybe on Valentine’s Day. And I buy myself flowers and all that kind of stuff. But I think you know what? Honestly, I think that’s why not for one second did I say, ‘Oh, poor me,’ or ‘Oh, I’m sad.’ I didn’t feel it once.”

The star shared a video on Instagram showing Matteo having fun on their Valentine’s Day excursion — including riding in a hot air balloon. She called the 4-year-old her “forever Valentine,” writing, “All I want is my baby boy to be so incredibly happy.”

Chigvintsev Believes They Can ‘End Up Being Friends’

Last August, Chigvintsev was arrested at the home he shared with Garcia following an alleged domestic violence incident. The charges against him were later dropped, but Garcia chose to file for divorce. The split was finalized in November.

In a recent interview, Chigvintsev said co-parenting Matteo with Garcia was “definitely doable,” adding, “Obviously, both parties put the best foot forward [to] accommodate the kid. [At] the end of the day, what’s best for Matteo is best for me, right?”

“I mean, never say never,” he said when asked if he and Garcia could ever be friends. “But there’s definitely needed to be certain conversation and certain things, acknowledgement of certain things. Yeah, I believe everybody can end up being friends.”
