Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev has reportedly been arrested in Napa, California. According to TMZ, he has been arrested for domestic battery. This is an ongoing story at this time.
Dancing With The Stars Professional Artem Chigvintsev Arrested for Domestic Violence
On Thursday, August 29, TMZ reported that Chigvintsev was arrested for domestic violence in Napa, California. According to online records, Chigvintsev was booked Thursday morning on a felony domestic violence charge.
It is not currently known what led up to Chigvintsev’s arrest. While reporting Chigvintsev’s arrest, TMZ pointed out the fact that his wife, Nikki Garcia, shared an Instagram story on Wednesday evening, confirming that she’s also in Napa. It is not known if Garcia is involved in Chigvintsev’s arrest.
This comes as the couple recently celebrated their wedding anniversary earlier this week. For those who may not know, Chigvintsev and Garcia met in 2019 on Dancing With The Stars. They began a relationship soon after being paired together on the show.
They have one child together, 4 year old Matteo. The couple also owns a home together in Napa Valley, California.
DWTS Returns Next Month
Chigvintsev’s arrest comes right before Dancing With The Stars returns to ABC and Disney+ for the fall. At this time, there has only been one confirmed professional dancer announced for the season. On the same day, it was announced via Good Morning America that longtime professional Witney Carson is returning to the series. It is unknown if Chigvintsev will return for this season of the show.
It has also been revealed that Team USA member Stephen Nedoroscik will be joining the celebrity cast for Season 33. The official cast announcement takes place on Wednesday, September 4 on Good Morning America.
The show will be hosted once again by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro. Returning judges are Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough. This season premieres on September 17, at 8pm ET on both ABC and Disney+.
