Clarkson previously lived and worked in Los Angeles. However, last year she made the decision to leave her coaching gig on The Voice move her talk show to New York City. According to a source, it was the right decision.

“The move to N.Y.C. was a fresh start for her that she has never regretted,” the source told People. “She had not been happy in Los Angeles for a while but was still nervous about moving. It was the best decision for her though. They thrive as a family.”

Clarkson shares a 10-year-old daughter named River and a 7-year-old son named Remington with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The singer filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020, and it was finalized in 2022.

“She feels very fortunate to continue her career in a way that makes it possible for her to balance work with being a mom,” the source added. “She’s very appreciative of everything.”

Clarkson’s Talk Show Was Renewed

Clarkson has been hosting her own talk show since 2019. Earlier this month, it was reported that The Kelly Clarkson Show had been renewed for a seventh season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 2024-2025 season averaged 1.2 million viewers per day.

“Kelly Clarkson is a national treasure. We couldn’t wait to announce another season of The Kelly Clarkson Show, fresh off the top-rated Christmas in Rockefeller Center in which Kelly hosted,” said Tracie Wilson of NBCUniversal in a statement.

Since kicking off, Clarkson’s show has won 22 Daytime Emmys. The show currently films at studio 6A at 30 Rockefeller in New York City, with Clarkson serving as host and executive producer.
