Dancing with the Stars Returns for Disney Night

Two stars were tied at the top of the leaderboard after individual dances on Tuesday night — Chandler Kinney and Danny Amendola. Chandler and her partner Brandon Armstrong performed a Paso Doble to “We Own the Night” from Zombies 2. They earned a score of 27 out of 30 from the judges.

Meanwhile, Danny and his partner Witney Carson danced a Jazz routine to “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC, featured in Deadpool & Wolverine. (Since Marvel is owned by Disney, the movie qualified for the night’s theme.) Danny and Witney also earned a score of 27 out of 30 from the judges.

Behind Chandler and Danny on the leaderboard were Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, as well as Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten. Joey and Jenna danced a Samba to “Trashin’ the Camp” from Tarzan, while Ilona and Alan danced a Jazz routine to “Surface Pressure” from Encanto. Both couples earned a total score of 25 out of 30 from the judges.

The Celebrities Performed Team Dances

Tuesday’s episode also featured team dances. Ilona Maher and Dwight Howard, who had the lowest combined scores, got to choose the members of their teams. Ilona’s Team Goofs featured Chandler Kinney, Jenn Tran, and Joey Graziadei, while Dwight’s Team Roar included Danny Amendola, Phaedra Parks, and Stephen Nedoroscik.

Team Goofs danced to “I 2 I” from A Goofy Movie, earning a score of 27 out of 30 from the judges. Team Roar performed to “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from The Lion King, earning a score of 24 out of 30 from the panel.

During this week’s episode, one couple also received something special going into next week’s show. Chandler and Brandon were chosen to receive three extra points in next week’s show, as well as immunity in the Halloween Night dance-off. This is because they earned the most cumulative points this season.

Who Was Eliminated This Week?

There was a four-way tie for the lowest individual scores on Tuesday night, between Stephen Nedoroscik, Jenn Tran, Dwight Howard, and Phaedra Parks. All four stars earned a score of 24 out of 30. Those scores, along with the team dance scores, were combined with votes from viewers at home in deciding who should go home.

Ultimately, the couple who was announced as being eliminated were Phaedra Parks and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy. For their dance this week, they performed a Jazz routine to “Cruella De Vil” from One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Phaedra dressed up as the iconic villain, while Val looked like a Dalmatian.
