Heidi N Closet Talks About Leaving Drag Race All Stars
Heidi finished Season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in sixth place and won the Miss Congeniality award. Earlier this year, she joined the cast of All Stars 8. During the season, she was involved in drama with her fellow queens.
Ultimately, Heidi decided to leave the competition, telling her competitors that “this has become really ugly and really hideous, and I don’t like that.” Afterward, Heidi said she had “zero regrets” about quitting when she did.
In a new interview with Joseph Shepherd, Heidi opened up about her decision to leave. She said she had told Kandy Muse about wanting to quit, and Kandy apparently passed that information along to Kahanna Monstrese, which tipped off the producers.
“My whole energy of being through with the situation was from that instance,” Heidi said, adding that, according to Kandy, the producers encouraged her to escalate things. She suggested that Kandy could have “told them no.”

Heidi Thought She Received Unfair Placement
Earlier in the season, Heidi had threatened to quit the show but ultimately chose to stay longer. Heidi said that part of her desire to leave came from her belief that she should have been placed higher during the competition.
“Because I have eyes, and I can see, and there was at least two girls in the top that should not have been in the top,” Heidi told Shepherd. “So what am I supposed to do when I know that these things are happening around me, and I have no control over it? What am I supposed to do, just suck it up? Just take it? When I know my worth?”
As Heidi said of her choice, “I’m gonna voice my opinion. I’m gonna voice how I feel. And if y’all don’t value me, then I’ll go.”
