‘The Bachelorette’ Star Charity Lawson Joins ‘DWTS’ Season 32

Charity Lawson on 'The Bachelorette'

Dancing with the Stars has announced The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson as the next celebrity contestant on Season 32. The news was announced during Monday night’s Season 20 finale, as Lawson got engaged to Dotun Olubeko.

Charity Lawson Joins Dancing with the Stars Season 32

Dancing with the Stars has a long history of welcoming The Bachelor and The Bachelorette stars into the ballroom, since both shows air on ABC. Last season, The Bachelorette star Gabby Windey made it to second place.

Now Charity Lawson is putting on her dancing shoes for Season 32. She’s the second celebrity contestant to be announced, following news that Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix would be competing.

Lawson’s new fiancé Dotun Olubeko broke the exciting news to her during Monday’s “After the Final Rose” recap show. DWTS posted a video of Lawson strutting down a hallway in a red dress to announce her participation.

Her professional partner for the season has yet to be announced. However, Val Chmerkovskiy commented on the post with a raised hands emoji. Chmerkovskiy danced with Windey last season.

Some Fans Took Issue with the Announcement

Not everyone is excited to see another star of The Bachelorette hit the ballroom this fall. As one person commented on Instagram, “Anyone else remember when DWTS had real stars on the show?” Others think competing on the show might be the kiss of death for Lawson’s relationship.

“I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD DO DANCING WITH THE STARS WHEN YOU HAVE A FRESH RELATIONSHIP TO WORK ON SMH,” wrote one fan. Another user pointed out that Windey and her fiancé Erich Schwer broke up while she was competing on the show.

What do you think? Is it time for DWTS to retire the tradition of The Bachelor stars competing? Does it spell bad news for Lawson’s relationship? Let us know in the comments below.
