Amid a ton of activities, including preparations for the Symphony of Dance tour, judging the upcoming Season 32 of Dancing With The Stars, and planning his wedding with fiancé Hayley Erbert, Derek Hough’s energy seems boundless. Inspired by a recent Emmy Award nomination, Hough expressed his hopes of having an all-winners season of DWTS.

Derek Hough Hopes For an All-Winners Season of DWTS

As Hough awaits the upcoming season of DWTS, he hopes to add a brand new twist to the beloved show. With the passing of Len Goodman, Hough is determined to honor his friend’s memory.

The show itself returns to its broadcast home on ABC, marking a shift from its previous season’s exclusive presence on Disney+. Notably, Hough’s sister, Julianne Hough, rejoins the show as a co-host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro, bringing her wealth of experience and unique perspective back to the dancefloor.

Yet, what truly ignites Hough’s imagination is the prospect of an all-winners season of DWTS. Drawing inspiration from successful reality TV formats, he envisions a fierce dance-off among the show’s past champions.

While uncertain about the seriousness of these discussions, Hough’s enthusiasm for the concept shines through. The idea of assembling a cast of champions, competing once again for the Mirrorball trophy, ignites a spark of anticipation.

Intriguingly, Hough speculates about a potential cast, naming former partners like Bindi Irwin and Nicole Scherzinger. With a mischievous glint in his eye, he imagines a gathering of dance virtuosos ready to set the stage ablaze.

Derek Hough Looks Back At His Emmy Nomination

Recalling his recent Emmy nomination, Hough reflects on the magic that birthed his acclaimed dance routine set to Michael Bublé’s “Higher” during Season 31 of DWTS. The routine was a symphony of movement, seamlessly intertwining various styles and exploiting the expansive stage to its fullest potential.

However, Hough’s journey to success wasn’t without challenges. Overcoming fear was a pivotal step in his evolution. “You can’t be grateful and fearful at the same time,” he asserts. Gratitude became his antidote to fear, propelling him forward and inspiring others to embrace their own dreams.

As for his own future, Hough remains open to the dance of possibility. While he cherishes his role as a judge, the performer within him stirs. “I love to entertain, I love to perform,” he muses. This sentiment encapsulates his unwavering passion for the art of dance, leaving the door slightly ajar for whatever the rhythm of life may bring.
