American Idol Winner Maddie Poppe Announces New Song
On Friday, Poppe shared the cover art for her new song “Screw You a Little Bit,” in which she can be seen sitting on the floor in an orange top and jeans, with her hair in a bun. She shared that the song will be released next Friday, March 31.
Fans can pre-save the song now. This will be Poppe’s first new single since she released “Peace of Mind” last August. Before that, the singer put out the track “One That Got Away,” along with an accompanying music video.
After winning Season 16 of American Idol, Poppe released her debut album Whirlwind in 2019. Hopefully all of these new music releases are a sign that she’ll be putting out a follow-up album for fans to enjoy very soon.

Fans Are Wondering About Poppe’s Relationship Status
While most of the comments on Poppe’s song announcement are expressing excitement about the new release, a few fans are wondering about the singer’s relationship status. She and Idol runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson were together for several years after the show, but they haven’t been seen together recently.
Neither singer has confirmed a break-up, but Poppe hinted at it in an Instagram Q&A last year, writing, “About 90% of these have been the same question over and over, but I’m not ready to talk about it yet tbh.”
Fans think this new song title might be further proof that Poppe and Hutchinson have split. As Instagram commenter @oliviaeve119 wrote about a possible break-up, “I would guess yes especially after this song release.”
