‘The Masked Singer’ Recap: Harp AKA Amber Riley Named Season 8 Winner
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Masked Singer returned on Wednesday night for the Season 8 finale, as Harp was named the winner and unmasked as Glee star Amber Riley. Meanwhile, the Lambs finished in second place and were unmasked as music trio Wilson Phillips.
Everyone delivered amazing performances during this week’s show, as they took on both personal anthems and twists on pop classics. As host Nick Cannon pointed out, this marked the first all-female finale in The Masked Singer history.
Harp (Amber Riley) Wins The Masked Singer Season 8
Harp has been a frontrunner from the very first episode of Season 8, so it’s no surprise that she brought the house down during Wednesday’s finale. She started the show off by singing “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga, with Jenny McCarthy declaring it the best performance she’s ever seen in a finale.
Later, Harp took the panel and audience to church with a cover of John Mayer’s song “Gravity” that she made all her own. She was even joined by a gospel choir at one point. Harp got emotional as the panel praised her talent.
The panel and audience cast their votes for the winner, and Harp ended up winning the Golden Mask trophy. Final guesses from the panelists about her identity included Yvette Nicole Brown, Jordin Sparks, and Jennifer Hudson. However, only Nicole Scherzinger correctly guessed that Harp was Amber Riley.
“I hope everybody felt my soul, because I bared it right here on this stage,” Riley shared. She shared how much the panelists’ words meant to her, saying, “I feel more than enough.”
In case you didn’t know this isn’t Riley’s first time winning a talent show. In 2013, she took home the Mirrorball trophy on Season 17 of Dancing with the Stars with partner Derek Hough.

The Lambs Are Unmasked as Wilson Phillips
Runners-up the Lambs also delivered some fabulous performances during Wednesday night’s finale. They started off with an empowering rendition of “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan. Panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Jenny McCarthy even joined them on stage.
Later, the Lambs delivered a unique performance of “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. As amazing as they were, they couldn’t beat Harp. Final guesses from the panelists about their identities included the Kardashians (yes, that was Ken Jeong) and the Chicks.
However, only Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger correctly guessed that the Lambs were the iconic music trio Wilson Phillips. They finished their time on the show with a performance of their 1990 hit song “Hold On.”
