Elton John, Britney Spears’ “Hold Me Closer” is a Vibrantly Emotional Must-Watch

Elton John and Britney Spears have finally dropped the visuals to “Hold Me Closer.” The official music video features colorful yet intimate interpretative dances, portraying the song’s emotional sketch.

The official press release of the video states that audiovisual treat captures “an immeasurable feeling of intimacy so missing from the world through the turmoil and chaos of recent times.”
Tanu Muino directed the music video, with Robert Katz, Frank Borin and Ivana Borin as producers. Within the video, dancers are seen wearing bright-colored outfits as they flawlessly move to the song’s rhythm. To bring about the aesthetic vibe of the video, Muino maximized the locations of Mexico City.
“Going into this video, I knew there would be a lot of emotional expectations the audience and fans would have,” said Muino. “With this responsibility, I had to do something different and unexpected.”
Surprisingly, the four-minute video did not include John and Spears. Nevertheless, that did not stop the video from becoming heartfelt as it was intended to be.
As Spears has been freed from the constraints of conservatorship, this new music is a milestone for Spears. Consequently, “Hold Me Closer” is her comeback song after not releasing one for six years.
Muino Wants to Make the Pop Duo Proud
Growing up with Spears, Muino confessed that directing the video was emotional for him. He envisioned the creation to make John and Spears “proud.” Apparently, a musical piece by Spears inspired Muino to pursue his present career.
“After seeing ‘Slave 4 You,’ I decided that I wanted to become a video director,” he said.
Furthermore, Muino stated that Elton John is an icon that he grew up listening to. Thus, the director wanted to be a part of John’s legacy.
Muino purposed the dances to be “forward-thinking,” so he chose Jacob Jonas as their choreographer. Subsequently, the soulful moves of the dance crew have impeccably accompanied the sonically captivating track.
Aside from the music video, fans will also have the opportunity to play the song from a disc. There will be three collectible, limited-edition CD single formats of “Hold Me Closer.” Essentially, all three CDs carry an original “Hold Me Closer” song. The second tracks, on the other hand, will vary between an extended version, a Joel Corry Remix, or a Purple Disco Machine Remix of the single on the remaining two.
Fans can pre-order the discs for $6.00 each. The same are set for release on November 18, 2022.
