The Voice coach John Legend has collaborated with quite a few artists over the years, resulting in some amazing duets. But you might have forgotten about some of the collaborations he’s released with other talent show stars, including two with his fellow coaches.
John Legends Duets You Forgot About
1. Meghan Trainor
Clash of the Cover Bands judge Meghan Trainor teamed up with Legend in 2015 for the song “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” which was featured on Trainor’s debut album Title. Legend brought his soulful vocals to one of the verses before the two singers combined their talents for the romantic chorus.
2. Ariana Grande
In 2017, Grande and Legend teamed up for a version of the classic Disney song “Beauty and the Beast” for the live-action remake of the movie. The artists sounded amazing together, putting their own spin on the well-known tune. Four years later, they appeared together on The Voice for Season 21.
3. Carrie Underwood
For the American Idol winner’s 2020 Christmas album My Gift, she teamed up with Legend on an original song (co-written by Legend) called “Hallelujah.” The inspiring project showed off both of their amazing voices and earned a CMT Music Award for Video of the Year.
4. Mariah Carey
Speaking of Christmas songs, Legend released one with this former American Idol judge in 2011. “When Christmas Comes” previously appeared on Carey’s second Christmas album and was re-recorded as a duet with Legend. In the festive music video, the two singers sit together and sing at the piano.
5. Kelly Clarkson
In 2019, Legend was joined by fellow The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson on an updated version of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” for Legend’s Christmas album A Legendary Christmas. Their cover of the much-debated song featured altered lyrics emphasizing consent.
6. Lindsey Stirling
In 2020, Legend teamed up with this violinist and former AGT contestant for remixes of his songs “All of Me” and “Conversations in the Dark.” Stirling brought her amazing violin skills to the tracks, which were once again sung by Legend.
7. Snoop Dogg
In 2004, Legend and Snoop Dogg joined forces for a song called “I Can Change” on Legend’s debut album Get Lifted. Snoop, who has a rap section on the track, would later appear with Legend as a Mega Mentor on The Voice in Season 20.
