Reading Time: 2 minutes
American Song Contest host Snoop Dogg has collaborated with fellow rapper Eminem on a new track called “From the D 2 the LBC.” The pair released a music video to go along with the song, featuring Bored Ape-style animation.
Snoop Dogg, Eminem Release New Song Together
“Took too long to reconnect with @snoopdogg- you know we had to make a movie!” Eminem wrote to promote the new song on Twitter Friday. The pair joined forces in an NFT-inspired music video directed by James Larese.
The clip opens with Snoop and Eminem in the recording studio, as Eminem complains about Snoop smoking up the room. As the song starts, Eminem acknowledges that it’s “been a minute,” and “this probably should have happened a while ago.”
The video then starts to shift between live action and animation, as Eminem and Snoop transform into Bored Ape characters. Both rappers show off fast-paced rapping as the track continues, shouting out their hometowns of Detroit and Long Beach, California. The video ends with them looking at a comic book containing similar visuals.

The Rappers Performed at This Year’s Super Bowl
Snoop and Eminem previously appeared together with other artists on the track “B*tch Please II” from Eminem’s 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP. However, this new song is their first collaboration with just the two of them.
Earlier this year, the rappers also appeared together at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, along with fellow performers Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
This is Eminem’s second song release this month, having recently put out the track “The King and I” with CeeLo Green, from the soundtrack for the new movie Elvis. The rapper seems to be hinting at a sequel to his 2005 Greatest Hits album Curtain Call, since his social media posts about the new song with Snoop include the hashtag #curtaincall2.
