America’s Got Talent Season 17 returned on Tuesday night with another round of auditions. Although the show has used up all of this season’s Golden Buzzers, the episode still ended memorably, as infamous contestant Sethward returned to surprise the judges.

At the end of the night, the show teased that next week’s episode will feature the final auditions, and fans will be able to save one act as the judges decide who should go to the live shows. With eight weeks of auditions under our belt, we’re looking forward to seeing the competition heat up.

Sethward Returns to AGT as the Big Apple

In case you don’t know, Sethward is a contestant who has appeared on three previous seasons, always wearing a costume and behaving outrageously. He actually made it to the Quarterfinals of Season 16, and we thought he might be returning earlier this season as Parrot Man, but that turned out to be wrong.

But it turns out that Sethward wasn’t done with AGT just yet. This week, he appeared as a character called the Big Apple, a stand-up comedian from New York who wanted to prove that “Apple’s Got Talent.” As he told his jokes, all four judges hit their red buzzers.

That’s when Big Apple collapsed on stage, and Sethward emerged from the costume dressed as a worm, shocking the judges and audience. He showed off some dance moves before host Terry Crews pulled his tail off, causing him to flash everyone. At this point, we should probably just plan for a Sethward appearance every season.

The Judges Enjoyed Ribbing This Week’s Contestants

This week, the judges seemed to get a kick out of ribbing the contestants. Caroline Rinny of Duo Mico shared that she had previously assisted her husband Jonathan in Season 12, and he would now be operating the winch for her aerial routine with new partner Max.

The judges couldn’t help but tease Caroline for trading her husband in for a new partner. They even asked Jonathan to step onto the stage so they could compare him to Max, concluding that they were both good-looking. It made for a bit of an awkward moment despite the duo’s incredible routine.

Then later, Simon Cowell responded with skepticism after Debbii Dawson said her parents couldn’t make it to her audition, saying it was “not a good sign.” After Debbii delivered a unique rendition of “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, Cowell suggested that she should call her parents to tell them she made it through. Her dad then revealed that she asked them not to come, making for yet another awkward moment.

Act Overcomes Lost Luggage to Wow the Judges

One of the standout auditions from Tuesday night’s show came from a group called RCC Aruba. Judge Sofia Vergara was excited to learn that the group was originally from Colombia and Cuba. They shared that they lost props on their way to audition.

They thought they might not even be able to perform, revealing that they had to borrow things like mats. But they didn’t let that stop them from putting on an amazing performance that had the judges gasping. The group members jumped on a seesaw and caught each other in midair.

The craziest moment came when they lit a hoop on fire, and one of the group members jumped through it while blindfolded. Vergara was so amazed, she jumped out of her chair. Needless to say, RCC Aruba earned four “yes” votes to move on.
