No, ‘America’s Got Talent’s Parrot Man Is NOT Sethward
Reading Time: 2 minutes
There’s an act called Parrot Man auditioning for America’s Got Talent Season 17 this week. At first glance, AGT fans thought the infamous AGT alum Sethward would be back for yet another weird performance. However, it looks like that isn’t the case after all.
Is ‘AGT’ Act Parrot Man Actually Sethward?
In a photo from Tuesday night’s new episode of AGT Season 17, a contestant named Parrot Man appears on stage. The performer looks exactly as you would expect a Parrot Man to look. He’s wearing a colorful shirt with wings for sleeves, and a parrot mask that covers his entire head.
Parrot Man is standing at a microphone, suggesting that he’ll be singing or performing stand-up comedy. The weirdness of the act, as well as the animal costume and the fact that the person’s face is covered, suggested that it could be past contestant Sethward in a disguise.
In case you’re unaware, Sethward is a repeat contestant on America’s Got Talent. He’s known for wearing animal costumes while performing outrageous routines. He first tried out in Season 13, then again in Season 14. He actually made it to the Quarterfinals of Season 16. His costumes have included a giraffe, a walrus, and a peacock.

Parrot Man Is Actually a Comedian Named David Safier
We now know the identity of the mysterious Parrot Man, and it’s not Sethward. A commenter on MJSBIGBLOG suggested that it could be the notorious performer, prompting an email from comedian David Safier saying that he’s Parrot Man, writing, “It’s not Seth Ward’s fault…Not this time anyway.”
David doesn’t have much of a following on social media, although he posted a photo from the AGT set earlier this month teasing his appearance. His YouTube channel also features a performance video from 2019 in which he repeatedly says, “How you guys doin’ tonight?” and “I’m parrot man!”
Just because Parrot Man isn’t Sethward, that doesn’t mean he won’t show up again at some point during the season. Just a few days ago, he posted a compilation of his past appearances on Instagram, writing, “Making judges uncomfortable since 2018.”
Tune into America’s Got Talent on NBC to see what the judges think of Parrot Man.
