Mama June Loses Custody of Honey Boo Boo to Daughter Pumpkin

June Shannon (aka Mama June) has reportedly lost custody of her daughter Alana Thompson (aka Honey Boo Boo). June’s 22-year-old daughter Lauryn Shannon (aka Pumpkin) has won full custody of her 16-year-old sister.

According to The Sun, court documents show that a judge awarded Lauryn sole custody of Alana, saying it’s “in the best interest of the child.” Lauryn has had guardianship of Alana since 2019.
Reports state that June will pay $800 per month in child support. Lauryn will decide when Alana and June will have visitation. Both parties apparently agreed to the arrangement, according to the ruling.
In recent years, June has struggled with addiction. In 2019, she was arrested for drug possession and later entered rehab. She claims to now be two years sober and recently confirmed that she married her boyfriend Justin Shroud earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Lauryn and her husband, Josh Efird, already have four kids of their own together. Their children include newborn twins, as well as a 4-year-old daughter and a 10-month-old son.

Mother and Daughter Appeared on ‘The Masked Singer’
During Season 6 of The Masked Singer, June and Alana appeared together as Beach Ball. They were introduced as a wildcard and eliminated in the same episode after a cringeworthy performance of “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus.
In their clue package on the show, Alana said that she and her mother had recently reconnected. She said in an interview with Nick Cannon after their unmasking that they were living 15 minutes away from each other in Georgia.
Alana and June rose to fame on the TLC reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. In 2021, June’s WE series Mama June: From Not to Hot was rebranded as Road to Redemption, documenting her journey trying to repair her relationship with her kids after rehab.
Pumpkin is amazing! June please just leave Alana alone at this point. Let her have a normal childhood, or what’s left of it.
I honestly pray for June to become the woman God created her to be and not to try so hard to confirm to the ways of the world and be the loving mother her daughter and grandchildren so need her to be.
