Carrie Underwood Steals the Show With Aerial Acrobatics at the CMT Music Awards

Carrie Underwood shined once again at this year’s CMT Music Awards on April 11. This country icon has a history of winning big, so it’s no surprise that she added yet another CMT Music Award to her collection. On top of Underwood’s nomination, she also performed her newest single at the event.
Underwood once again brought home the award for video of the year at the 2022 CMT Music Awards for her collaboration with Jason Aldean. This marks the country singers tenth win of this specific award. On top of video of the year, Underwood also won the CMT Music Award for collaborative video of the year for the same single. These wins brought her total number of CMT Music Awards up to 25 total.
Carrie Underwood Stuns in CMT Music Awards Performance
Not only did Underwood win big at the event, she put on an amazing show. The broadcasted clip showed Underwood performing her newest haunting single “Ghost Story” upon the stage of her Las Vegas residency. Within the performance, she is highlighted with purple lighting with smoke surrounding her. Alongside her on stage for the passion filled break up song is multiple aerialists twirling on silks.
Everything about the staging of this performance added passion to the song. At the end of the song, Underwood propelled from her own silks. She flew high above the stage and performed a pose before holding the last note of the song. Everything about this performance was perfection.
Fans were quick to comment how amazing Underwood is as a performer after she shared the video to social media. Underwood’s video of her performance has gained over two million views on Instagram following the performance.
“She always steps up every performance. This is why she should have been entertainer of the year. I can only imagine how good her Vegas show is” a fan commented on Instagram.
Absolutely no one expected the country singer to end up on the silks at the end of the performance. Even America’s Got Talent alum Duo Transcend praised the country singer in the comments of her post including aerial silks. This country artist truly always keeps fans guessing on what her next power move will be.
